The investments in the fields of mining, or in mineral transformation processes in the producing countries do allow the set up of value adding industries that have the ability to spin off profits from raw materials.
Then, primary transformation and semi-final products up the value chain are aimed at creating important economic and social benefits.
· The model and the investment scheme is already in use in other areas. · The investor/fund signs up an M.L.T. supply agreement directly with the mining/ primary production party with an indexed discounted facility at mutually binding conditions. · As key element of agreement, the supplier guaranties the supply and long term availability of product. · As key element of agreement the investor/fund commits to re-invest a part of the facility or discount into the company activity. · Typically, prior to the agreement, the supplier should have the possibility to exchange with funder/investor his vision of development to be incorporated into the agreement; such as: · Improvement of production process, new equipments and plants, new technologies. · Additional or extension of new mining activity, exploration license. · Set up new production subsidiary to go down the value adding process.
